Turn off the Tech, advise family and friends in your home you don’t want to be disturbed for one hour, set your phone to do not disturb mode…
realise you are in control of what comes your way.
You can reduce many of the concentrating robbing events and stimulus that take you from tasks – finding some me time is a good practice for bringing peace of mind.
Now to Tune Out.
You can even do this exercise in a busy city or place – it will help clear your head of the issues and prepare for more productive time.
Sit in a safe space.
Hear the traffic.
Heat the birds chirping.
Hear the trees rustling or rain coming down.
Close your eyes.
Then begin to ignore your surroundings.
Focus on your breathing in and out, keep your breath steady and normal.
Clear your mind and imagine a white room clear of thoughts.
Each time you have an intrusive thought, it will track over the white space like footprints, and you don’t want that.
Don’t let other thoughts into the whiteness of the room you have built. If they do creep in start again, let them go.
Sit in this white space and let the peace come to you.
If you begin to communicate with visitors, guides who may enter this peaceful space then allow this to flow.
It will be a most peaceful state, and you can practice this many times over.
